Major League

Title: Major League
Rating: Three and a Half Spotlights

Movie Wrapped Up:
When a rich woman gets the Cleveland Indians, a long-loosing team, she decides to ditch it all to get a spot somewhere else. She sets it up to hire a bunch of losers, and she's determined to see them loose!
But a team wants to win, and sometimes that's enough...

Mad Take:
Needs work. It was supposed to be a comedy, so the story wasn't as needed. But it did rely on the story a bit, and I'm sorry to say that it was only average material. The comedy didn't help either. There were some chuckle parts, but not big-time material.
But the ending was amazing. It was extremely well-done! You were basically on the edge of your seat, cheering on the Indians. That's what earned this movie the last half-Spotlight. The ending was almost five-Spotlight material!
This movie isn't too terrible, though it's no award-winning fiasco, but the shining part was the game at the very end.

Added Note:
This movie has a healthy amount of bad language. Mainly, it's one word that's high on the bad-word list. I'm not putting it on this blog, but if you are going to want to be used to that kind of thing.

Jurassic Park 3

Title: Jurassic Park 3
Rating: Four Spotlights

Movie Wrapped Up:
Mr. and Mrs. Kirby's son goes missing on the island of Isla Sorna. They trick/kidnap Dr. Allan Grant, who went to the first Jurassic Park, to come to the island to help. But then they all get stuck on the island.
It's as much a fight for survival as it is trying to find a way off the island...

Mad Take:
Now this movie would have been a better second movie! The story was better and more enjoyable. The story could have used some tweaking, but I enjoyed it better than Jurassic Park: The Lost World.
This was a pretty good movie.

Spiderman 3

Title: Spiderman 3
Rating: Four and a Half Spotlights

Movie Wrapped Up:
Things have been going well with Peter Parker. He's dating the girl of his dreams, and New York loves Spidey. But things will get bad and rumble when a new series of enemies come along: the second Goblin and Sandman. And then there's the alien symbiote (sp?) that decides it likes Peter...
Is there a happy ending for Peter Parker this time?

Mad Take:
Amazingly well-done movie. The story was extremely well done. It made us feel things... I literally wanted to slap Harry Osborn when he forced MJ to trick Peter. There were some confusing scenes, like when Pete first discovers the alien symbiote. And there were many clever scenes, my personal favorite being Spidey in front of the American flag.
The reason for the lost half of a Spotlight? Comfort in many scenes. When Spidey was infected with the alien symbiote, it was not comfortable in the slightest. And Spidey... wait, he was still infected with the alien symbiote... "killing" someone (don't worry, it turned out otherwise) was not comfy in the slightest!
And the ending wasn't the best. We never found out it Petey and MJ had a happily ever after. The question was never asked, and never answered! That was something I would have very much liked answered!
This was a very good movie overall, however.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Title: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
Rating: Three Spotlights

Movie Wrapped Up:
Sort of taking off from where the first Mortal Kombat left off, the evil Shao Kahn lead an invasion of Earth, breaking the rules. The Merger of Realms is going on, and the Earth and humanity will be destroyed if this happens.
The fate of the Realm is in Liu Kang and his friends' hands...

Mad Take:
This movie was a sorry sequel. The story had some serious problems. I was continually confused about certain things. A movie you couldn't really keep up with is not a good one (and I was not delighted with the undead... or sort-of undead, they didn't explain good enough... mom was not a good memo for me. At least she didn't look like a zombie!). And the beginning was confusing, even for someone who saw the first movie! And, to top this off, you pretty much had to see the first movie to even semi-enjoy it
The special effects were good, but there were times when it wasn't good enough or too good. And the sounds on the DVD... not helpful! You were playing with the volume continually so you could hear or your ears didn't get hurt.
The only really good thing about the movie was once again the action scenes and music. It was game music, some I recognized from the first movie. Except for a few songs, that was the best part of the movie. The martial arts scenes were awesome too, but even they could have been done better in certain scenes. I was sometimes confused, like I wondered, "What just happened? How did he/she do that?" Now, this wasn't all the time, but there were a few scenes like that.
To sum everything up, I'm not sure whether or not I would suggest this. Probably not. While the first was totally awesome, this movie needs a good deal of work.
This is not my favorite movie, and a disappointment to the first movie.
